The Marshall Goldsmith School of Management in conjunction with the greater Fresno area Chamber of Commerce are hosting a trip to China with visits to memorable sites, both ancient and modern, along with a multitude of first-hand,unforgettable cultural experiences. You will also learn about the operation of the Chinese business system and how global organizations are doing business in China.

Optional Tour
This year we are offering an optional tour for an additional cost of $450/person to visit the Terra-Cotta Warriors at the Tomb of the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty.


Itinerary

October 15-23, 2009
Beijing ~Suzhou ~
Hangzhou ~ Shanghai


Day 1 • October 15 • Los Angeles/Beijing
Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide-cabin jetliner. Cross the International Dateline.

Day 2 • October 16 • Beijing
Beijing, the Capital of China. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to a hotel.

Day 3 • October 17 • Beijing
Visit the Tiananmen Square, and the Temple of Heaven. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace, known for its Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 4 • October 18 • Beijing*
The Great Wall, the 4,000- mile long and 2,000 year old construction, is said to be the only manmade structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit to the Ming Tombs before dining on a roasted Beijing duck dinner.

Day 5 • October 19• Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning flight to Shanghai, then take the tour bus trip to Suzhou. Evening dinner show with traditional Chinese music.

Day 6 • October 20 • Suzhou/Hangzhou
Morning sightseeing to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit to the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with 1,000 years history. Afternoon tour bus journey to Hangzhou. Visit to Economic Development Zone.

Day 7 • October 21 • Hangzhou/Shanghai .
Morning boat cruise on West Lake with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Vist the centuries old Lingyin Temple. Afternoon

Day 8 • October 22 • Shanghai
Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rock gardens and over arching trees. Visit to the Bund, a famous waterfront park. A business visit to the Pudong Economic Development Zone.

Day 9 • October 23 • Shanghai/San Francisco
You may spend your final hours in China on your own in the morning. Afternoon flight to San Francisco

*Optional tour on days 5 & 6 to Xian available for extra fee.

A non-refundable registration fee of $200 per person is due with your registration and is included in your total tour fare.

The balance is due on or before 8/1/09 after which date, NO CHANGES OR ADDITIONS are permitted and NO REFUNDS are possible FOR ANY REASON.
